NZ FMX Battle

The original date for the first round was to be today, December 28th, but with wind gusts of probably 100km/hr (just guessing by what I can see outside the window!) and the probability of a storm, we have been notified it's been pushed back until the 29th. Yesterday a few of the boys had time to get some practice in. It was a bit windy for practice too, so Sauly and I headed back after dinner and rode until about 9pm with Josh Thomson who's just getting back on the bike from a huge crash 9 months ago.The set up this year is almost identical to last year with the two portable downramps going opposite ways. The fun box is there which is used as an Entry point, but Sauly and I spent some time on it yesterday mucking around while the wind was up. Seems Sauly was carrying on a bit too much when he went over the balance point on a nose wheelie and went over the front and took out Tom the photographer. Then Sauly carried on some more and tried standing on the seat with no hands. It looked awesome until he lost balance, grabbed a heap of throttle and lost it, landing with his arm in the spinning tyre and tore his arm up a bit.Check back tomorrow for results from the first round and hopefully some photo's too!
