Happy Australia Day from Indonesia

In my 25 years I've never missed an Australia day whether it was at home in Queensland or a few times in Perth.  Perth Australia day's are actually the best I've had.  They go nuts for it over there, it's almost bigger than New Years.  Well, this year I had a little change and celebrated with only us few Aussies here in Indonesia.

I hopped online and saw all my mates with Australia Day messages when it finally clicked.. Yep, it's Australia Day!  It's pretty damn easy to lose track of time over here.  To be honest I haven't known what day it is since I arrived.  We just get told where to go, whether it be media or press conferences, radio interviews, riding shows or going somewhere for some fun.

Australia-dayThere was no barbeques, there was no Bundy rum.  There was no corn relish dip watching planes fly over the Perth skyline.  But we managed to have a fair few Bintang beers and go swimming in the pool at our hotel to ward off the stinking humidity and heat here in Jakarta.  Then we headed to the mall with Dias and Jo and went on a ride within the mall similar to the Big Drop at Dreamworld - only scaled down about 10 times.  Ah well, it was a bit of fun with our new Indonesian friends.  Then we managed to find some Vodka drinks and that kept us entertained for a while.

Then to wrap it we went and had dinner with Yudhi and Rani at one of the best restaurants I've been too.  Segarra restaurant is located right on the beach and with a laid back atmosphere it was just what the doctor ordered for me and Clinton to keep celebrating Australia, the Aussie way... drinking beer.

So a Happy Australia Day to everyone back home... best country in the world!
