Late nights, more rain and radio interviews

clinton-weightsWe have had yet another week of watching rain.  This sucks.  But that's what happens in the wet season of Indonesia and we can only hope it stops raining today and tomorrow so we can hopefully get some riding in on Saturday.

clinton-weightsKim has been thrashing the gym most days of the week and the rest of us decided we would finally go and do some work too.  I probably just needed to work off some of these Nasi Goreng's we've been eating (or fried rice).  Kim and I were only at the gym for an hour before we had to leave the rest of the boys there and we headed off to do more radio interviews.

We had just the one interview with the 99ers radio station which is the biggest station in Bandung.  Everything was fairly normal with all the radio interviews with just asking us what we do, why we ride, do we like the town we are in.  Usually there is a question asking if we think the girls are beautiful, I'm not sure why, but they just want to know.  Well, not this time, it was the opposite.  It was really funny, but one of the radio interviewers was openly 'bencong' or gay and that's cool, I'm not worried.  Then he was hitting on Kim and I and apparently I was his favourite.  I can't say I've had that before.  "Sorry mate, my fiance won't be impressed if I go on a karaoke date with you" and that finished that.  haha.

radio-bandungSo after that weird outing, we were off to Dira's place for a barbeque where he invited all of us up and put on a huge bbq.  Kim ended up being the chef, but I was very impressed with the food.  It felt pretty much like an Australian barbie which is something we haven't seen for a few weeks so it felt a little like home.  After enjoying some marinated steaks and chicken we headed off to a night club.  It was 11pm and it had only just opened.  On a Wednesday you wouldn't even think anybody would be out, but by about 1am it was finally starting to get going and was getting chocka's about 3am.  After yet another bottle of Absolut vodka we hit the sack and finished a really long day.

mud-track-bandungThursday took us a fair while to get out of bed obviously.  The only real plan we had was to check the track out and make sure the FMX ramp was getting fixed properly.  We turned up to see a few Indonesian blokes oxy cutting and welding the ramp back up.  The trusty 9 metre radius drawn into the dirt with a string was used which was reminiscent of my first ramp I made 8 years ago.  They actually fixed it pretty well, taking the big flat spot out of the ramp and also filling out the belly that was in it.  So hopefully if the rain goes away we'll be able to hit it.

We also had one of the best lunch's and dinner when Deden took us out who is one of our new friends.  For $4 we had the best stuffed cheese and chives stuffed garlic chicken with cappacino sauce.  You'd probably pay $40+ at home to receive that meal in the restaurant we had which was awesome.  So we at least know where we'll be having lunch and dinner every day now while in Bandung!

I'm now just sleeping in again before we have to go do a rolling thunder today, where we will be riding moto's through the street to promote the event.  Hopefully it doesn't rain while we do it or she'll be interesting on these roads.
