A night of Karaoke

steve-singingWe arrived in Bandung, the 4th largest city in Indonesia with a population of roughly 2.5 million and it's quite a modern city compared to the others we have been too.  It's also a very conservative city too, but we didn't know that before we had an impromptu stop in for some karaoke at a shopping centre.

rangaThe boys wanted to do some shopping and as always it mainly revolves around them getting credit for their phones.  I don't know what they would do if they didn't have their phones sometimes.  Although, in saying that, I'm always running around with my phone or laptop trying to snag any Wi-Fi hotspots as well.

We were about to go back to the hotel when the idea was thrown around about doing some innocent karaoke.  Ah why not.  It seems like the thing to do.  Well one jug of bintang went down way to quickly for the big group of us.. so a few more jugs came.  Then when the bintang wasn't doing the job, Seb decided it was time to call in the vodka, and for the polish guy in the room it's the only way he knows how to do it.

lewis-singingAfter a few brews we were all belting out the tunes.  Kim and I at least stuck with the old school Metallica beats, but the Melbourne lads were wanting to sing along to Kanye and 50 cent. Each to their own and it was helping the night carry on.  By the time we were all feeling pretty tired and wanting to go home it was an early 9pm, but Sheeny was looking worse for wear as the one armed bandit must have went too hard.

sheeny-gunsWe all woke up in the morning looking like a bus hit us, but on with the show.  After some drama's we had to deal with, we headed up to the Bandung hot springs.  This hot spring was much more 5-star than the hot spring we were at in Malang after the first round.

These springs have been built around with a resort and many ordinary looking pools that are fed by the 42-degree water.  It wasn't as 'natural' as the Malang springs, but with all the rain around, and Bandung actually being a lot cooler than other cities, we were more than impressed to be floating around like a tea leaf in the hot water.  What a way to work off a hangover.steve-drunk

So now we're just sitting back at the hotel, with a few days left until the next Powercross event.  It's been raining flat out, so I doubt the track will be getting built until closer to the event and once again it will be a rush to get it done.  Check back in to see what happens.  We may also be going for a trail ride up in the mountains today, so hopefully our bikes turn up and we can go and have some fun.
