Tattoo's and Dribbly ass - Week 2
Saturday, 19 December 2009 16:47

18122009146During the week we headed from the last round at Malang in the mountains which I thought was hot, down the mountain to Yogyakarta (or known as Jogja) where we really saw how freakin’ hot Indonesia could get.  The only thing hotter was the chilli’s we ate!

The drive down the mountains was actually a kick14122009125 ass experience with the river winding down beside the road the entire trip and the only thing that would have been better would be getting in a raft and going down through the rapids.  We were bailed up in the street in the middle of nowhere by the Indonesian Army doing marching practice.  I’m not sure why but they took up the whole road.

We got into Jogja and went straight over to the same tattoo artist who did the dragon on Lewis’ leg so he could get it finished and filled in, while Seb was keen on getting a new tat to add to his 15122009126collection too.  After the boys were inked up Seb and Clinton headed out to the clubs and the rest of us were pretty stuffed so we headed back to the hotel to finally get some sleep.  About 3am I woke to Seb turning the light on and yelling at me in some mumbled fashion which basically translated into ‘Clinton’s hammered, he’s passed out on my bed, what do I do?”  Being the drunken clowns they were I said just drag him off and turn the damn light off.  It turns out there were balcony’s in the night club and Clinton had downed a bottle of Vodka and decided to jump from balcony to balcony.  After getting up on stage and dancing with the band they were kicked off and out.

When I woke in the morning Sheeny had filmed Clinton passed out and cursing at the toilet and the boys still weren’t even hungover until late the next afternoon.  And to make things worse for the boys we went on a little museum tour to find out about Jogja so Clinton was looking pretty ordinary.  To make things a little better the boys stopped in for a massage in a shopping mall.16122009138  Clinton was asleep in 5 minutes and Mason was getting a neck rub but for some reason the therapist decided he had to wear a boob tube.  Funny for us, not so much for him.

We then headed up to Semarang for the 2nd round of Powercross.  The bus trip was probably the crappiest so far, squashed into a mini-van with 10 people that seats 8 with bags and all.  Sheeny went for a quick pit stop at a servo for I guess in PG version was a piss, but then turned around and had to piss out his ass as well haha.  So the next stop was him getting a 4-pack of emergency toilet paper and pinched some gastro-stop off Clinton haha.

We got into Semarang and went for some dinner and to finally get out of the mini-van.  The best part was Sheeny eating his Nasi Goreng and thinking there was 4 green beans in it.  Well the clown got that wrong as it was the really hot green chilli’s and we had some entertainment for about 10 minutes watching him sweat over it and knocking down about 8 glasses water which didn’t really help.

17122009140The next day we had 3 more radio interviews to do, this time all the guys got in on it which made it pretty interesting.  One of the radio stations was pretty ordinary though, we were just sitting in the front room with the door open, car sounds going past and all sorts of background noise.  And the last bit of promotion before the show was doing the parade through Semarang city.  We had 2 riders in each Jeep and cruising through town.  The local towns people were pretty excited to see us even when it was their Muslim holiday.  But the people who came out were pretty stoked to see it.

18122009145As for the rest of the time, a few of us were getting pretty sick.  I had inflamed glands as if I was getting tonsillitis, but the track builders were all really sick with the same symptoms as well.  Adam who is the main builder actually had to go to the hospital to get treated.  The show is coming up and I’m only just starting to feel better so we’ll see how I go.. But I should be able to get through.

Check back to see how the show went and then I’m off to Bali for a week holiday before the New Zealand Red Bull FMX Battles.

Til then, take it easy!
