What the?  Yeah, it surprised me too.  The Indonesian Powercross organisers have asked me to race in the supercross series this year and take on the likes of Lewis Woods who placed 6th overall in the recent SuperX racing in 250F Pro Lites class.  So where do I find time for this?

"Steve, you race?" Powercross promoter, Yudhi asked.

"No, I ride freestyle mx, I don't race" I said.

"You race.  In Indonesia you race?" Yudhi insisted.

Well I almost didn't have to be told twice.  How cool would that be?  I've never actually raced ever, although I have ridden plenty of tracks but not the real bar-banging stuff.  But wouldn't it be cool to say the first time I ever raced was in Indonesia with an international field of racers.

When I filmed the television ad which is airing in Indonesia for the Powercross series I was teamed up with Australia's 250F racer Lewis Woods to be the face of the series.  Ugly faces, but they needed someone I guess.  Lewis said there was a few quick Thai racers that will be coming and a couple of the Indonesian racers are quite fast also.

So I've been toying with the idea for a week now, race 250F's on the KTM 250SX-F that I am provided to do the Freestyle MX and also do Freestyle on the same bike.  I have my own suspension, plastics, bars and seat, it will feel the same as my 2-stroke only the major difference - it's a 4stroke!

I will have to go from my usual 2-stroke KTM 250SX at home and jump on the 250SX-F, get used to it and hit the ramps to perform the FMX shows.  In between the FMX however will be the Pro Lites class that I've been asked to race.  The only thing I would have to do is essentially put the full-seat back on for racing and I'm all set.

So what would you do?  Would you take up the opportunity?  I'm probably going to be so un-fit after all my injuries and probably way out of my league but it will definitely be fun.  I'll see if I can get Sheeny and Clinton Moore to have a crack at the racing too.  It would be insane if one of us actually posted some good results.
