As I was searching Youtube for the video I put up from the first round in Malang, I actually stumbled across this video which is from the 4th round in Bandung, Indonesia.
For Sheeny to fly from Jakarta to Perth he had to be up at 4am to catch his 6:45am flight home. In a way it would have been better as it gets all the boring customs stuff done early in the day and then you’re heading home when you’re feeling good. Unfortunately Sheeny woke me up when he got up and I only had to be awake at 7am and I couldn’t get back to sleep.
As I was wandering around the pits and the area where the general admittance crowd stand I was trying to watch the Power to power when I was rudely interrupted and asked to judge the Surya 12 girls next to where we do the media appearances and then announce the winner. It was definitely a tough job, but hey someone has to do it.
With a week full of rain, the 5th round was looking like it would be a three-peat of wet racing and FMX. Things were actually looking peachy by Thursday with the sun poking its head out and creating one of the hottest steamiest environments I’ve ever been in. At least it meant we had a good chance of a Freestyle show!
In some ways it feels like an eternity, in other ways it's been a great trip meeting new people, having the time of our lives. But it's almost come to an end with only 3 nights left in Indonesia for the Powercross series. The fridges are stocked with beer and we're ready to party.
