18112009050What a whirlwind trip. I had Valyside Australian FMX championships on Sunday and flew to Indonesia on Tuesday.

I flew into bali and met up with Lewis Woods, Australian pro lites rider for Red Devil Mobil racing and hes filling in for Kim Ashkenazi whos out with a broken back T3 and T7.

We both caught the Garuda flight from Bali to Jakarta. Not filled with much confidence when Garuda Airlines is on Air crash investigation but it was actually a much better flight than the Jet Star one. We were picked up by one of Yudhi's drivers, Doddy, who turned out to be the creator of Indos first motocross magazine, Motocrosser.

From there we arrived at the Aryaduta hotel in Jakarta and you quickly remember Jakarta is in the middle of terrorism with 8 police officers stopping us at the gate looking for bombs and searching the car. But as we walked to the front door you'd think we were staying at a high end car show with the new E-class Mercedes AWD at the front door which draws attention away from the metal detecting scanner you have to walk through to get inside. At least you know its safe.

The day of the shooting was overcast and we were told when they have events on they bring 2 rain-stoppers (old guys) who sit there to stop the rain from wrecking the event. They split the rain and make it rain in other places. If thats the go in indonesia then i need to get my grandad to become a wind stopper at home!

I'm just about to go to the airport now but  there will be photos up tomorrow with behind the scenes of the TV ad shoot.  The ad will be up on youtube in a week so check back to see final results.
